Saturday's Tease........

Looking at Letters in a New Way

An anagram is a word or phrase made up of letters that you can rearrange into another word or phrase that, ideally, is connected to the original run of letters. For example, the letters in the phrase great help can be rearranged to form the word telegraph, and, indeed, when it was invented, the telegraph was a great help in communication.

Now try your hand at rearranging the letters in each of the following numbered items to form a word related to the original phrase.

  1. a stew, sir?
    becomes _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
  2. Erin lad
    becomes _ _ _ _ _ _ _
  3. mad policy
    becomes _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
  4. moon starers
    becomes _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
